The Knowledge to Policy (K2P) Center, in collaboration with the Alliance for Health Policy and Systems Research, has launched a mentorship program utilizing a multifaceted approach to develop sustainable and durable capacity for evidence-informed decision-making of selected research-policy-making institutions (representing all six WHO regions). Central to the Mentorship approach is the establishment of Policy Fellowship Programs within each mentee institution. In this session, we will convene key researchers and policy-makers from each mentee institution along with their designated mentors to reflect on the experiences, impacts and lessons that have been learnt from joining the mentorship programme and strengthening institutional capacity for evidence-informed policymaking in their respective countries.

This session will review experiences and lessons learnt from embedding implementation research in programme implementation processes, and discuss implications for scaling up in the context of health system strengthening.

Part of the multimedia track of HSR2020, this session presents four products that showcase the role of co-production of knowledge. The Alliance will be presenting on two stories of change produced to highlight the role of embedded research in creating learning health systems and building a culture of data use.

This satellite session will focus on the topic of advancing migration and health as a cross cutting multidisciplinary focus of research and will highlight both ongoing research in this field, including research in sexual and reproductive health and rights, in health policy and systems, and infectious diseases of poverty.

Learning is fundamental to health systems strengthening and the achievement of health goals. This participatory session will engage policymakers, civil society advocates, researchers and funders in structured conversation on experiences of learning health systems in LMICs, and shape a shared understanding of how to foster this critical health system function.

Informed by a multi-country research programme, this participatory session examines how government and CSO accountability initiatives empower citizens to effectively exercise their health insurance entitlements and how these make health insurance programmes more responsive.

Rehabilitation 2030 is the global call to action that highlights the profound unmet need, particularly in LMICs, for rehabilitation service provision. The purpose of the session is to sensitise the HPSR community to the significance of rehabilitation as a systems-level intervention to optimising functioning.

Major global health gains can be achieved by strengthening the implementation and delivery of public health policies and programmes in LMICs. This supplement consists of empirical research and methodological contributions that illustrate innovations in implementation research in LMICs, and outlines trajectories for the development of the field.

To increase the numbers of early-career women based in LMICs working in HPSR, Health Systems Global the Alliance and Health Policy and Planning teamed up to establish a mentorship programme. This event launches a special issue featuring their work and will feature selected mentees and mentors to share their experiences.

In this skills building session, participants will be exposed to the concepts of systems thinking and systems thinking tools. Presenters from Botswana, Pakistan and Timor-Leste will share their learning and experience in bringing systems thinking to district health systems in their countries.
